25 Surai saplings planted in KU

In latest news from Uttarakhand, the directorate of visiting professors and alumni cell of Kumaun University planted 25 Surai saplings in the DSB campus under ‘Ek Ped Apne Maa Ke Naam’ programme launched by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The organisers said that the Surai plants prepared by a Botany student of the university Disha Upreti were planted in the memory of former Botany professors – late Yashpal Singh Pangti, late R D Khulbe and late Giribala Pant. Later, tributes were paid to these three teachers.
Among the eminent persons present at the programme was the former director, Himalayan Forest Research Institute; Fellow of National Academy of Sciences and Fellow of Royal Society of Biology, London, Sher Singh Samant.
