An earthquake measuring 3.5 on the Richter scale struck Bageshwar district early Tuesday morning, triggering panic among residents who rushed out of their homes. According to the seismologists, the epicentre of the earthquake was located in the Bageshwar region at a depth of 10 kilometres. The tremors were felt briefly, prompting people to remain alert.
The district administration officials said that they were closely monitoring the situation. The district disaster management officer Shikha Suyal appealed to the people to remain cautious and immediately inform the authorities in case of any emergency or unusual situation.
