A three-day book fair being held at Kendriya Vidyalaya ONGC Dehradun commenced on Monday.
The office bearers of the institution said that the objective behind organising the book fair is to deepen the relation between students and books, adding that it showcases fiction, non-fiction, biographies, general knowledge books and drawing books, meant for the students of classes I–XII.
While inaugurating the fair, the principal of the school Sushil Kumar Dhiman expressed concern over the growing influence of social/visual media on the students and how it is robbing the children of their reading habits. He exhorted the students to make books their companions in life.
