A number of film celebrities will attend

In latest news from Dehradun, the third edition of the three-day Dehradun International Film Festival is all set to commence on September 22 in the Silver City on Rajpur Road and Tula’s Institute. Like previous years, this year’s festival too will be attended by a galaxy of film actors, film directors and playback singers. A senior functionary of the Dehradun International Film Festival (DIFF) Rajesh Sharma informed that alongside the film festival, Talent Hunt and Aangan Bazaar Exhibition (featuring the products of all-women self-help groups) would be held, adding that the film celebrities like Vinay Pathak, Rajit Kapur, Varun Badola, Pradip Singh Rawat, Mohan Kapur, Deepti Naval, Himani Shivpuri, Chitrashi Rawat and Pushan Kripalani would be attending the festival. He further said that as part of the Talent Hunt component of the festival, there would be two groups- eight to 15 years and above 16 years- and the competitors to be enrolled in both these groups would present musical, dance and acting performances aside from painting, poetry and mimicry before a panel of distinguished judges. The winners of the competition would be bestowed with awards and certificates. “The festival is going to prove a golden opportunity for the youngsters of the State to showcase their inherent talents and share thoughts and feeling with the film celebrities,” he said, adding that a battery of directors/producers is emerging now who are making their marks in the national film arena. Importantly, on the first day of the festival, a special screening would be held for the visually impaired people.
