The three-day annual Vasantotsav commenced in Raj Bhawan premises in Dehradun on Friday. If you are feeling dampened by the prosaic sides of life you must visit the spring festival and get refreshed by the celestial beauty of the flowers awaiting to take you to a world of pure beauty and blooming delight. The flower show was inaugurated by the Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (retd) at 11 am.
The flower exhibition is open for the people from 1 pm to 6 pm on Friday and on Saturday and Sunday it will be open from 9 am to 6 pm. First, second and third prizes would be distributed among those who are participating in the competition.
Mention worthy, this year “Nimru” features in the special postal cover released by the Governor. As many as 30 departments of the state government are participating in the spring festival.
Earlier on Thursday, a flower-decked vehicle was started by the Governor which travelled through Dehradun city to take the festival to the people at large. The Governor appealed for more participation of the people than previous years.
