The Delta plus variant of Covid-19 has been confirmed in three patients in the Pithoragarh district. On Friday, the chief medical officer (CMO) of the district issued a letter to the in-charge Dharchula community health centre informing that the variant was confirmed in three patients of Dharchula including two Indians and a Nepali citizen.
The samples of these people had been sent to NCDC lab in New Delhi from the Haldwani laboratory. The CMO Dr HC Pant has asked the medical in-charge to take necessary steps to prevent the spread of the Delta plus variant. He has asked the department officials to trace the people who came in contact with the three and take samples of all the family members.
