3 die in separate accidents in Tehri district

Three persons died in two separate incidents in Tehri district on Tuesday. While a father and son duo died in a road accident, a young lady was swept away in a river while filling water.
According to sources, a two-wheeler en route from Chamba to Haridwar skidded near Amsera on the Rishikesh-Chamba highway on Tuesday morning. This resulted in the deaths of the father and son duo riding the two-wheeler. According to the police, the father and son riding the scooty were going from Chamba to Haridwar. The deceased were identified as Ramesh Dutt Kothari (55) and his son Vikas Kothari (35) – both residents of Hadam village in Chamba area.
In another incident, a young lady was swept away by the strong current of the Dharmganga river in Ghansali area while she was filling water from the river. Following an hour-long rescue operation, her body was recovered from the river about a kilometre from the spot where she was filling water. Revenue sub-inspector Gabar Singh Rawat said that around 2 PM on Tuesday, Mohita (20), a resident of Ragsya village, had gone to fetch water in the Dharmganga river located some distance from the house when she was swept away by the strong current of the river.
