In order to improve facilities for patients, three new medicine counters have been opened at the Deen Dayal Upadhyay district hospital. This initiative was carried out in response to the recent order of the Dehradun district magistrate Savin Bansal. During a recent surprise inspection of the hospital, the district magistrate had observed that patients were queuing for long periods due to the limited medicine counters, causing inconvenience to the patients. Considering this, the DM issued specific directives like maintaining sanitation and increasing the number of medicine counters in the hospital. As a result, the administration has established three new medicine counters in compliance with the DM’s orders. According to the officials of the hospital, earlier there were two medicine counters, but with the addition of three more, the total count has now risen to five. Further, it is anticipated that the hospital administration will also establish a blood bank on the premises. A meeting with the DM is scheduled on September 21 to discuss this matter.
It will be recalled that the medical superintendent of the district hospital, VS Chauhan earlier informed that following the instructions of the DM, the hospital management promptly issued a formal notice to the sanitation agency to ensure that the hospital’s cleanliness is maintained in compliance with the established standards. He added that the sanitation personnel at the hospital usually operate in three shifts to maintain the sanitation. Additionally, the management will ensure punctuality among all employees, including physicians, nurses and others, requiring them to arrive at the hospital on schedule. Any delays in reporting to duty will lead to deductions from their monthly remuneration, he said.
