30-bed emergency ward inaugurated at Himalayan hospital

The vice chancellor of Swami Rama Himalayan University, Vijay Dhasmana inaugurated a new and ultra modern 30 -bed emergency ward in the Himalayan hospital. Many doctors and staff of the hospital were present on the occasion.
The new ward is fitted with advanced facilities and latest support systems. Speaking on the occasion, Dhasmana said that the Himalayan hospital is committed to improve the facilities and remain at the forefront of health care services for the people of the region. “With the commissioning of the new hi-tech emergency ward the total number of beds has gone up considerably. This will reduce the stress caused to patients suffering as a result of long waiting lists. A large number of patients from adjoining states such as Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh come to the hospital for treatment. This new facility will be beneficial to them also,’’ he said.
The head of the emergency ward, Dr Anita Sharma said that earlier a block of 28 beds was operational in the hospital which included a six bed ICU facility. Now the capacity of the emergency block has increased to 58 beds. The emergency block also includes an operation theatre now, she informed.
The registrar of the university Dr Susheela Sharma, Dr Sunil Saini, Dr Mushtaq Ahmed, nursing superintendent Reena Habil and others were present on the occasion.
