30 overloaded dumpers seized in Vikasnagar

Acting on directions to curtail illegal mining, the authorities seized 30 overloaded dumpers in the Vikasnagar area. The chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed strict action against illegal mining. In pursuance of this, Dehradun district magistrate R Rajesh Kumar had directed all sub divisional magistrates to conduct raids regularly acting on information regarding illegal mining, storage and transportation of such material. Acting on these instructions, Vikasnagar sub divisional magistrate Vinod Kumar along with Tehsil and Mining department personnel acted against illegal mining in Kunja and Ramgarh. The official seized 30 dumpers overloaded with mined material and hidden in farms. The officials were in the process of contacting the owners of the seized dumpers. As the vehicles were caught while transporting the mined material on a route other than the fixed route, the officials were also in the process of seizing the material and imposing penalty. The Dehradun district magistrate has directed all the sub divisional magistrates to regularly take prompt action against illegal mining and conduct raids to check such activities. The district magistrate has also directed that checking drives should also be conducted on other routes from where there is possibility of the illegally mined material being transported.
