3,033 kidney patients availed free dialysis facility in past 3 years: Rawat

Health minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that a total of 3,053 patients suffering from kidney ailments have benefited from free dialysis facilities in the State during the past three years. He said that the State government is monitoring the Prime Minister National Dialysis programme being operated under the National Health Mission. He said that a total of 2,87,366 free dialysis were administered on 3,053 patients in the past three years.

 The minister further informed that in the financial year 2022-23, a total of 78,773 dialysis were done on 821 patients with the help of 1,012 hemodialysis machines in the different government hospitals and medical colleges of the State. Apart from them peritoneal dialysis of 17 patients was done.

 Similarly in the year, 2023-24, dialysis of 984 patients was done. In the last financial year, 1,13,345 free dialysis were performed on 1,174 patients with the help of 166 hemodialysis machines.

Rawat said that the government has decided to open six new dialysis centres in the State. These centres will come up at CHC Berinag Pithoragarh, district hospital Baurari Tehri, GS Mahar government hospital Ranikhet, Almora, sub district hospital Mussoorie and sub district hospital Kashipur, Udham Singh Nagar.
