Taking a stern view of the delay in the recruitment of primary teachers in the Education department, the Education minister Dhan Singh Rawat gave a severe dressing down to the officers of the department on Friday. The minister took a meeting of the officers of the department at his residence on the day. He said that the recruitment process on 3,368 vacant posts of primary teachers in the State will be held in two phases. In the first phase recruitment of 2,917 teachers will be done.
The minister directed that the district wise recruitment advertisement should be released for recruitment of the primary teachers within a week. He informed that recruitment process on the remaining 451 posts of teachers will be held after the decision of the court. Rawat said that the officers have been directed to expedite the process of recruitment of primary teachers so that the selected teachers are appointed in the schools in the month of July.
The minister directed the officers of the secondary education department to expedite the process of recruitment of assistant teachers (LT). He said that the transfers of teachers should be done in a transparent manner and availability of the textbooks should be ensured.
The director of SCERT Vandana Gabriyal, director of Primary Education RK Uniyal, director of Secondary Education MS Bisht and others attended the meeting.
