35 Panchayat representatives from U’khand’s border villages invited to Republic Day parade

Thirty five Sarpanches from the border districts of Uttarakhand are among those invited to the Republic Day parade in the national Capital on January 26. The Sarpanches from Uttarkashi, Chamoli and Pithoragarh districts along with their spouse have been specially invited to witness the Republic Day parade. Apart from this, 23 deputy Sarpanches of these districts have also been invited.
Sarpanch of Niti village in Chamoli district, Hemlata Rana is very excited about the invitation for the Republic Day parade. She and her husband Mukesh Rana have expressed gratitude to the Government of India for this invitation. The invited Sarpanch of Mana village in Chamoli, Pitamber Singh is also happy with the invitation received. He said that he is going to witness the parade and programmes on January 26 along with his wife Gayatri Devi. He said that this is happening for the first time in the history of India when Sarpanches and deputy Sarpanches of villages of the border districts of the country are being invited to watch the Republic Day parade. He opined that the government is making commendable efforts for the development of border areas through the Vibrant Village scheme.
Sarpanch of Mukhwa village in Uttarkashi district, Shivkala Devi along with her husband Sanjay Singh is also invited to witness the Republic Day parade. She expressed her excitement at the opportunity to witness the parade programme and thanked the government for this invitation. Sarpanch of Dharali village, Prabha Devi and her husband Pradeep Singh are also invited to witness the parade. Singh expressed happiness at the opportunity to witness the different cultures, development and bravery of India during the parade. Sarpanch of Gunji village in Pithoragarh, Suresh Singh who is also invited to the Kartavya Path to witness the parade said that he is excited by the fact that the government is inviting public representatives from villages located so far away for the Republic Day celebrations. Sarpanch of Kuti village in Pithoragarh, Dharmendra Kutiyal and head of Duktu village, Virendra Duktal are also excited about getting the invitation for the parade.
It is pertinent to mention here that along with beneficiaries of welfare schemes of different sectors and ministries, the Sarpanches, Pradhans and deputy Pradhans of the villages covered under the Vibrant Village scheme have also been invited by the Centre to the Republic Day parade to be held on the Kartavya Path.
