3,940 new Anganwadi centres to be built in U’khand soon: Arya

The Women Empowerment and Child Development (WECD) minister Rekha Arya informed that the proposal for making 3,940 Anganwadi centres has been approved for the State. She said that funds have also been received for the construction of Anganwadi centres across the State.

The minister appreciated the developments being facilitated in Uttarakhand under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. “Our Anganwadi buildings are currently operating across the State, but there was a need for new centres. Due to this, the department had made a proposal for the construction of new centres,” she added.

The construction work of these buildings will be started soon. She said that this would strengthen the State’s Anganwadi centres further. Children of the State will experience more convenience in the new Anganwadi centres. In the first phase, a total amount of Rs two lakh has been sanctioned for the construction of each building and in the second phase a total amount of Rs 1, 34, 327 has been sanctioned for the construction of each building, she added.
