40 students selected for Udayan Shalini Fellowship in Doon

An induction ceremony was held for 40 girl students selected for the Udayan Shalini Fellowship this year. The UJVN Limited managing director Sandeep Singhal was the chief guest on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Singhal appreciated the various measures being taken by the Udayan Care organisation to empower girls especially through education. He said that the education and empowerment of girls and women will lead to a stronger and more progressed society and nation. Commending the measures being taken by the organisation to facilitate education, he said that economic, social and personality development of any person is difficult without proper education. He exhorted the selected students to make the most of the fellowship to strengthen their future.
Dehradun coordinator Vimal Dabral informed that the fellowship is provided to meritorious students from economically weaker backgrounds. Starting at class XI, monthly scholarship is provided for two to six years under the fellowship. Class XI girl students of government and aided schools have to undergo a written test, interview, home visit and other steps for being selected for the fellowship, he added.
