4827 health workers vaccinated in U’khand on Thursday
Three deaths, 82 new Covid-19 cases reported
The state health department inoculated a total of 4827 health workers with the vaccine of Covid-19 on Thursday. On the day 68 vaccine sessions were held in different parts of the state. The Chief Operations Officer (COO) of the state Covid-19 control room, Dr Abhishek Tripathi said that a total of 19517 health workers have so far been vaccinated in 299 sessions in the state. In Dehradun a record 14 sessions were held on the day in which 905 health workers received the vaccine jabs. In Pauri 772 workers were vaccinated in 10 sessions while 550 people received vaccine in Udham Singh Nagar district
Meanwhile, the number of novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) cases in Uttarakhand increased to 95908 on Thursday with the state health department reporting 82 new cases of the disease. The department also reported the death of three patients which increased the death tally from the disease to 1642 in the state. The health authorities discharged 178 patients from different hospitals of the state following their recovery on the day. A total of 91597 patients have so far recovered from the disease. The recovery percentage in the state now stands at 94.51 percent and the sample positivity rate is 4.56 percent. One patient each of the disease was reported dead at Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital, Kailash hospital, Dehradun and Sushila Tiwari government hospital Haldwani on the day.
The state health department reported 41 new cases of Covid-19 from Dehradun, 17 from Haridwar and 11 from Nainital on Thursday. Five patients were reported from Udham Singh Nagar, three from Pauri on the day while one patient each surfaced in Bageshwar and Chamoli districts. The districts of Almora, Pithoragarh, Tehri, Champawat and Uttarkashi reported no new case of the disease on Thursday.
The state now has only 1338 active cases of the disease. Dehradun is at the top of the table of active cases with 272 cases while with 253 active cases Nainital is at second position. Haridwar has 179, Almora and Bageshwar 125 each, Udham Singh Nagar 107, Pithoragarh 70, Tehri 65, Pauri 53, Uttarkashi 35, Rudraprayag 26, Chamoli 19 and Champawat nine active cases of the disease.
