490 new cases, four deaths reported on Sunday
A total of 490 persons tested positive for Covid-19 on Sunday while four deaths of Covid patients were also reported in the state on the same day. At the same time, a total of 396 people recovered from the disease. With a total of 6,293 active cases in the state at present, the recovery percentage is 89.55 per cent.
According to the information provided by the Health department the total cumulative positive Covid-19 cases detected so far in the state are 82,429 out of which 73,818 have been cured. The total number of deaths of Covid patients in the state is 1,355 which amounts to a 1.64 per cent fatality rate. While 8,320 samples were sent for testing on Sunday, the results of 11,391 samples are still awaited.
Of the positive cases reported on Sunday, the highest were from Dehradun district at 202 cases followed by 79 in Nainital. Among the other districts, one case was reported from Almora, zero in Bageshwar, 24 in Chamoli, six in Champawat, 46 in Haridwar, 23 in Pauri, 25 in Pithoragarh, nine in Rudraprayag, 14 in Tehri, 50 in Udham Singh Nagar and 11 in Uttarkashi district. When it comes to the number of active cases, the highest is in Dehradun with 1,931 cases followed by 801 in Nainital. Among the other districts, there are 356 active cases in Almora, 185 in Bageshwar, 364 in Chamoli, 137 in Champawat, 609 in Haridwar, 443 in Pauri, 458 in Pithoragarh, 178 in Rudraprayag, 323 in Tehri, 288 in Udham Singh Nagar and 220 in Uttarkashi district.
