In an effort to enhance skills, a five-day training workshop titled ‘Drones and Drone Applications’ is being organised for the inspector rank officers of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) at the Uttarakhand Space Application Centre (USAC). The training began on Monday and will continue until Friday.
The workshop provides intensive training on various aspects of drone technology and its applications in disaster management. In addition, experts from the Drone Application and Research Centre, which operates from USAC being managed by ITDA, have been delivering lectures on ‘Introduction to Drones and their Components.’
NDRF officials said that this training is meant to develop an understanding in 25 officers of the effective use of drone technology in disaster management, search and rescue operations and surveillance aside from relief distribution.
