In latest Uttarakhand news, the State government came down heavily on some errant forest department officials for felling green trees across Sandra, Devta and Kotigaad ranges within Tons forest division in Purola of Uttarkashi district in violation of the order that sanctioned felling dry trees only. Five officers- a DFO, an officiating SDO and three rangers- have been suspended by the order issued by the principal secretary of the State forest department R K Sudhanshu.
