5 students killed as car falls into gorge in Mussoorie

In latest news from Doon, in a major mishap, five students were killed and another was injured when the car they were travelling in lost control and fell into a 100 metre gorge near Jharipani in Mussoorie. Upon receiving the news, the local police, fire brigade and SDRF teams rushed to the spot and launched rescue operation. The bodies of four young students were extricated from the mangled car. Two young women were found grievously injured and transported to a hospital where one of them succumbed and another, given her critical condition, was referred to a higher facility.
Police said that all the deceased were students of IMS University and DIT University-identified as Aman Singh Rana (22), Divansh Pratap Bhati (23), Asutosh, Hridayansh Chandra (24) and Tanuja Rawat (22). The injured student is identified as Nayanshri (24).
