50 Swift Schools to come up in Uttarakhand

The Education department has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MuO) with the ConveGenius Foundation for establishing 50 Swift schools in Uttarakhand.
Education minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that the State government is committed to make the education system of the State technology based. He said that the MoU of Swift Schools is a step in this direction. The minister informed that the Swift School is an integrated school change model in which individual teaching, use of modern technology and digital data based education is included. In these schools the students will get education based on their learning level. Rawat said that Swift schools will identify the learning lacunas with the help of technology and necessary education to them will be given accordingly. The minister added that the ConveGenius Foundation is also helping in encouraging CSR based education in the State. Under this initiative the Foundation will distribute 1,000 laptops to the students with the assistance from Amazon Web Service. Rawat further informed that the department has selected 50 schools for the purpose. He said that in Pauri and Champawat district 19 schools each while six schools in Dehradun and Haridwar districts have been identified for the Swift Schools. The minister has directed the officers of the department to start these schools as early as possible so that the students get the benefit of technology based quality education.
