500 beds added in Covid Care Centre in Dehradun

Coronation to become Covid hospital. CM conducts surprise inspection of Govt health facilities in Doon on Wednesday
In view of a steep jump in the cases of the Covid-19 in Dehradun, the state government has decided to make the Pandit Deen Dayan Upadhyaya (Coronation) hospital as Covid hospital. At present the Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital is functioning as a dedicated Covid hospital and all the beds in this hospital and other private hospitals of the provisional state capital are full with Covid patients. In addition to this the government has decided to add 500 more beds in the Covid Care Centre at International Cricket Stadium Raipur in Dehradun. The Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat conducted a surprise inspection of GDMC dedicated Covid hospital , Coronation hospital and the Covid Care Centre at Raipur on Wednesday.
At Raipur stadium the CM was informed that the facility has 450 beds for the Covid patients and 500 more beds are being added here. The CM directed the officials that all the facilities including the food should be provided free of cost at the centre. He said that sanitisation, thermal screening, CCTV cameras and other facilities as per the standards should be provided at the centre. Rawat directed that the oxygen support should be kept at Raipur centre and nutritious food should be provided to the patients. He added that proper arrangement for transport of critical patients from centre to the hospital should be made. The CM directed the District Magistrate (DM) of Dehradun to make arrangements for a baseline assessment of Covid infected patients and accordingly make their treatment plan. He said that cooperation of the private hospitals too should be taken in increasing the number of beds available to the Covid-19 patients.
The CM also inspected the GDMC hospital and Coronation hospital on the day and directed to make Coronation hospital a Covid hospital. He assured that the Uttarakhand government is committed to ensure that the general public don’t face any problems. He claimed that all the hospitals have adequate stocks of oxygen, medicines and other equipment. The CM added that in this hour of crisis the state government is committed with all the resources to help people. The government is standing for and with the people, he said.
The Rajpur MLA Khajan Das and Raipur MLA Umesh Sharman ‘Kau’ accompanied the CM.
