512 new Covid-19 patients reported on Friday in U’khand

Patient tally increases to 70205, death toll- 1138

In an indication that cold weather accompanied by a surge in the number of cases in the National Capital Region (NCR), the curve of Covid-19 could take an upswing in Uttarakhand also, a total of 512 fresh cases were reported by the state health department on Friday. This incidentally the second highest daily count of patients in the month of November. On November 11, 783 cases were reported. The tally of the disease in the state has now mounted to 70205. The state health department also reported the death of five patients on the day which increased the death toll to 1138 in the state. The authorities discharged 585 patients from different hospitals on the day. A total of 64969 patients have so far recovered from the disease. The recovery percentage is now at 91.72 percent.

One patient each of the disease was reported dead at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh, Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital, Sushila Tiwari government hospital Haldwani, HNB Base hospital Srinagar and Medicity hospital Rudrapur.

The department detected 204 patients from Dehradun, 45 from Chamoli, 43 from Nainital, 39 from Haridwar, 35 from Pauri, 27 from Pithoragarh, 23 from Tehri, 22 from Udham Singh Nagar, 20 from Rudraprayag, 16 from Almora, 14 from Bageshwar and 12 each from Champawat and Uttarkashi on Friday.

Uttarakhand now has 4051 active patients of the disease. Dehradun district with 1157 active cases is at top of table while with 399 active cases Pauri is on second position. Haridwar has 371, Nainital 350, Chamoli 300, Tehri 254, Udham Singh Nagar 250, Almora 172, Pithoragarh 204, Rudraprayag 198, Uttarkashi 152 and Bageshwar 146 active cases of the disease. With 98 active cases of Covid-19, Champawat is at the bottom of the table.
