In latest news from Doon, the 53rd KVS National Sports Meet 2024 Football (U-17) Girls commenced at Kendriya Vidyalaya ONGC, Dehradun. A large number of students from 17 regions of KVS is participating in the sports event. The ED (HCA), ONGC and chairman, KV ONGC, Dehradun, R S Narayani; Arjun recipient athlete Chitra K Soman and the deputy commissioner, KVS (RO), Dehradun Sukriti Raiwani were among those present during the inauguration. The principal of the host school Sushil Kumar Dhiman was also present.
Narayani in her address exhorted the participants to make sports a way of life through inculcation of the true spirit of sports in them while Soman stressed on hard work and team work as key to success in the sports arena. In her welcome address, Raiwani highlighted the importance of sports in fostering teamwork, discipline, and resilience among students while emphasising the value of a healthy balance between academics and extracurricular activities.
