5K plus tourists visit Valley of Flowers so far

Thousands of tourists have so far visited the Valley of Flowers which presents a unique view these days with a range of colourful and aromatic flowers. According to officials, a total of 5,457 tourists including 90 foreign tourists have visited this valley in Chamoli district so far this year.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Valley of Flowers was opened for visitors on June 1. The unseasonal rain caused a delay in the blossoming of the flowers here. However, following the monsoon rain in July, the valley is now dotted by plants of more than 200 species in bloom. A considerable number of people visit the valley during July-August. Local resident Chandrashekhar Chauhan informed that polymonium, solidago, ligularia, crementhodiun, hackalia, animone, potentila, geranium, campenula, codonopsis, angelica, primula reddii, rheum, aconite violacium are other flora are in bloom in the valley.
