5th convocation held at Sri Dev Suman University

The fifth annual convocation of Sri Dev Suman Uttarakhand University was held at its premises in Rishikesh on Tuesday with the Governor Lt Gen (Retd) Gurmit Singh having presided over it as the chancellor. A total of 21230 students were awarded bachelors’ (17827) and masters’ (3403) degrees while 81 students were awarded gold medals at the ceremony. The State Higher Education minister Dhan Singh Rawat and the State Finance minister Premchand Aggarwal were present. Students securing highest marks in all three faculties at the graduate and postgraduate levels were presented with the Sri Dev Suman gold medal while the students securing highest marks in three subjects at the postgraduate level were presented with Captain Shoorveer Singh Panwar medal and the students securing highest marks in Commerce faculty at the graduate level were awarded Late Nandram Purohit gold medal.
The Chancellor urged the students to continue dreaming and strengthen self-control. Besides, they must have invincible conviction in themselves that nothing was impossible for them to achieve, he added. He also exhorted them to strive hard to help India emerge as the Guru of the world.
