6.47 lakh beneficiaries of Ayushman scheme in U’khand
A total of 49.44 lakh health cards have so far been made in the State

The plain districts of Dehradun, Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar constitute the lion’s share of beneficiaries of the Ayushman scheme. A total of 6.47 lakh patients have so far availed the benefit under the scheme and out of them 3,96,595 belong to these three districts only. A sum of Rs 1159 crore has so far been spent on the scheme.
A district wise analysis of the scheme shows that 1,88967 people have benefitted from the scheme in Dehradun while there 1,12261 and 95367 beneficiaries in Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar districts. Almora has 14,363, Bageshwar 6,622, Chamoli 20,974, Champawat 8,237, Nainital 55866, Pauri 54,666, Pithoragarh 17510, Rudraprayag 12119, Tehri 39,347 and Uttarkashi has 21,137 beneficiaries of the Ayushman scheme. A total of 49.44 lakh health cards have so far been made in the State. The health minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that the Aysuhman scheme has proved to be a panacea for the lakhs of the people in the State. He said that strict orders have been given that the people standing last on the social ladder should have the information about the scheme. Rawat said that strict monitoring of the progress of the scheme is being done. He said that free kidney transplant has also started under the Ayushman scheme. “ Our government is committed to provide better health care facilities to the people. The officers have been directed to ensure that the patients should not face problem in the hospitals.’’
Launched amid much fanfare, on December 25, 2018, the Atal Ayushman Uttarakhand Yojana (AAUY) provides a cover of Rs 5 lakh per annum to all 23 lakh families of Uttarakhand in the panelled hospitals under the scheme. Patients can avail benefit of the scheme for 1350 types of diseases in these hospitals.
