64 health care workers vaccinated in Himalayan hosp
In Dehradun five vaccination sessions were organised on the first day of the drive. In Himalayan Hospital Jollygrant the first vaccine was administered to Lalit Thapa, a member of housekeeping staff of the hospital.
A total of ten booths were prepared in the hospital for vaccination where health and other front line workers were inoculated. The Vice Chancellor (VC) of the Himalayan University Vijay Dhasmana who was present on the occasion said that vaccination is like a Suraksha Chakra against Covid-19 virus. The hospital had constituted a team of doctors headed by Hospital Superintendent Dr S L Jethani and nodal officer Dr Sanay Das for the vaccination. A total of 64 health care workers were administered vaccines on the day. Lalit Thapa who was the first person to be inoculated on the day in the hospital said that he had worked in the Covid-19 ward and served the patients of the disease in the hospital.
Expressing happiness on receiving the vaccine jab he said that everyone in the society would now remain safe from the disease. The deputy Chief Medical Officer (Dy CMO) of Dehradun Dr Sanjiv Dutt, Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Doiwala Laxmiraj Chauhan and others were present on the occasion.
