67.28 & 47.68 % voter turnout in Manglaur & Badrinath bypolls respectively

Barring an incident of violence in Libberhedi area of Haridwar district, the polling in Badrinath and Manglaur assembly by- elections ended peacefully on Wednesday. The election commission data showed 67.28 per cent polling in Manglaur constituency till 5 PM. Similarly 47.68 per cent voters came out to vote in Badrinath assembly by- election.

 In Libberhedi of Haridwar three people were injured reportedly in a clash between Congress and BJP workers. The condition of one of the injured is said to be critical. The Congress leaders claimed that some armed outsiders threatened voters of a particular community and tried to prevent them from casting their vote. They also claimed that some rounds of bullets were fired by miscreants to scare the voters. On hearing about the incidence of violence in Libberhedi, the Congress candidate Qazi Nizamuddin reached the area and met the injured in the hospital.

Later former chief minister Harish Rawat and his supporters were prevented by the Police from reaching Libberhedi following which Rawat sat on a Dharna at Libberhedi Canal Bridge. He alleged that the BJP goons captured booths in Liberheddi and attacked the Congress workers with sticks. The Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Karan Mahara, former PCC president Pritam Singh and other MLAs of Congress party met the SP Crime, Haridwar in his office at Roorkee and registered their protest.
