7,000 UPNL-appointed employees to be removed

In latest news from Dehradun, the State administration has decided to terminate service of 7,000 out of over 25,000 employees appointed in different departments through Uttarakhand Purv Sainik Kalyan Nigam Limited (UPNL). In addition to this, salary has been held up for several employees. It is learnt that the forest and other departments have sought information about outsourced employees engaged in sanitation, security and gardening works.  Furthermore, the administration has ordered departmental investigation into salary payment for such employees who were appointed outside the sanctioned posts. Acting on the order of the additional chief secretary Anand Bardhan, the forest department had stopped salary payment of 250 employees.   The State chief of UPNL Mahasangh Vinod Godiyal said that a large number of employees have been working outside the sanctioned posts.
