An eight month old child went missing from home. Prima facie the police suspect that this might be a case of kidnapping. On Saturday, an eight-month-old child went missing from his house under suspicious circumstances from Mohalla Kadach of Jwalapur area in Haridwar. As soon as the information was received, the Haridwar senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh and the police officers reached the spot. The police began the investigation and also started checking the footage from CCTV cameras nearby to find traces of the missing child.
However, no concrete clues could be found till the evening at the time of filing this report. The SSP said that the police had received information that an eight-month-old child had gone missing while he was sleeping at home. The police also brought the dog squad to the house in an attempt to find some clues. According to the police, prima facie it appears to be a case of child kidnapping. However, the police will be able to ascertain when it’s a kidnapping or some mischief only after the investigation. The first priority of the police is to recover the missing child safely, he said.
Singh further said that the police were informed about the missing child more than two hours after he had actually gone missing, so there is also the possibility that in case of kidnap, the culprit may have crossed the district/State border with the child or that they might still be somewhere in Haridwar itself. The police are conducting an intensive checking campaign to find the missing child.
