In latest news from Uttarakhand, police are probing a case of child lifting from Haridwar railway station. Officers investigating the case said that the child, eight months of age, was sleeping with his parents and siblings on the platform no 1 when he was stolen. His father who filed the complaint said that they had come to Haridwar from Varanasi. When they woke up on the arrival of the Howrah Express at around 4.30 am they did not find the boy. As their search failed to find him, they approached police.
Police further said that they were investigating the case based on a person’s account of a woman seen surreptitiously moving out of the station while carrying a child.
