89 new cases, 101 recoveries in U’khand on Tuesday

The state health department reported 89 new cases of novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) and 101 recoveries from the disease on Tuesday. Death of three patients was also reported on the day. The cumulative count of Covid-19 patients in the state has now increased to 3,40,882 while a total of 3,26,043 patients have so far recovered from the disease. In the state 7,338 people have so far lost their lives to Covid -19. The recovery percentage from the disease is now at 95.65 and the sample positivity rate is at six per cent in the state. The authorities collected 26,978 samples in different parts of the state on Tuesday.
Death of two patients was reported from Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital Dehradun while one patient died at Sushila Tiwari government hospital Haldwani on the day.
The department reported 20 new patients from Dehradun, 15 from Haridwar, 14 from Nainital, nine from Uttarkashi, seven from Pithoragarh, six each from Tehri and Champawat, five from Almora, three from Udham Singh Nagar, two from Rudraprayag and one each from Bageshwar and Pauri on Tuesday. No new patient of Covid 19 was detected from Champawat district on the day.
The state now has 1,538 active patients of the disease. Dehradun district is at top of the table in the list of active cases with 570 cases while Bageshwar is in the second position with 180 active cases. Nainital has 123, Pithoragarh and Pauri 117 each, Chamoli 89, Champawat 88, Uttarkashi 69, Tehri 46, Rudraprayag 40, Udham Singh Nagar 36, Haridwar 32 and Almora 31 active cases of the disease.
The state reported no cases of Mucormycosis (Black fungus) and any death from it on Tuesday. A total of 509 patients of the disease have so far been reported in the state out of which 110 have died.
In the ongoing vaccination drive, the health department vaccinated 85,590 people in 767 sessions held on Tuesday. A total of 9,37,752 people have been fully vaccinated so far in the state while 38,11,566 have received the first dose of the vaccine in the state.
