9 health ATMs installed on Yatra route in Chamoli

The Health department has installed nine health ATMs on the Badrinath and Hemkund/Lokpal Yatra routes while the 10th is being installed in Badrinath. Health secretary R Rajesh Kumar arrived in Chamoli district to check the arrangements for the Char Dham Yatra. He inaugurated health ATMs at primary health centres at Gauchar and Karnprayag. Chief medical officer Dr Rajiv Sharma said that the installation of 10 health ATMs was approved on the route to Badrinath.
Following the approval, the health ATMs have been installed at the primary health centres in Narayanbagad, Badrinath, Gauchar, Ghangharia, Peepalkoti, Govindghat, Pandukeshwar and the trauma centres in Karnprayag, Gairsain and Joshimath. One health ATM will be installed soon in Badrinath, he said. A health ATM enables the user to check blood pressure, sugar level, weight, height, body temperature, oxygen saturation level, body mass index, body fat, dehydration, pulse rate and other aspects. The CMO further said that the technical staff members who will work with the health ATMs have also been provided training.
