2100 differently abled vaccinated in their homes- CMO Dehradun
The district health department of Dehradun is now focussing on a door to door campaign for Covid-19 vaccination. Under this campaign, 2100 differently abled persons have so far been vaccinated in the district. The department has also removed the compulsion of online registration on Cowin portal for vaccination in Dehradun which implies that anyone can walk in to any government vaccination centre and get the vaccine dose.
The chief medical officer (CMO) of Dehradun, Dr Manoj Upreti told mediapersons here on Monday that in the district 94.24 per cent people have been vaccinated with the first dose of the vaccine. Elaborating further he said that the department has taken a target to vaccinate 14,27,997 people in Dehradun district and so far 13,45,799 have received the first dose of the vaccine. He said that 4,93,733 beneficiaries in the district have received both doses of the vaccine. The CMO informed that 82,198 beneficiaries in the district have not received the first dose while 9,34,224 people are needed to be inoculated with the second dose of the vaccine.
Dr Upreti said that for the vaccination of differently abled persons, the health department teams are visiting their homes. He said that one can approach by sending a text or whatsApp message on the phone number 9368530756 for vaccination of any differently abled person. The CMO informed that a total of 547 vaccination centres are being organised in the district out of which 94 are in private hospitals. The department has fielded 109 mobile teams in the district for vaccination. These teams have so far vaccinated 1,84,000 people in the district. Dr Upreti said that the district has 3,35,720 doses of Covishield and 23,466 doses of Covaxin in its stock.
