98 new cases, one death from dengue reported in State

After a day of temporary respite, the number of dengue cases reported in a day climbed up substantially to 98 on Monday. One patient died from the disease in Nainital district on Monday. The total number of active cases of the vector-borne infection in the State is currently 357. According to the Health department the cumulative number of dengue cases in the State this season is 2,328 out of which 1,956 patients have recovered from the disease.
Out of the 98 cases reported in the State on Monday, 54 are from Pauri district, 14 from Dehradun district, nine from Champawat district, eight from Haridwar district, five from Chamoli district and two from Nainital district. A total of 15 persons have died in the State from dengue so far. Thirteen of the deaths have been reported in Dehradun district while two patients have died in Nainital district.
