The organisers of the two-day Jagda fair held recently at Mahasu Devta temple in Hanol met the Tourism and Culture minister Satpal Maharaj here on Saturday. The organisers thanked the minister for attending the fair and declaring the event held in the mountainous Jaunsar-Bawar region of Dehradun district a State fair.
The minister said that the two-day fair was broadcast by the Astha television channel in about 170 countries and was watched by about five crore people. Reshma Shah requested the minister that the GST on the payment made to artistes for one programme is too high and should be reduced. She also requested that the artistes should be paid more for their performance.
