Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the State government is committed to facilitating 30 per cent horizontal reservation to the State’s women in government jobs. He said this while responding to the requests of a delegation of women from various districts who met him here on Thursday along with the Bharatiya Janata Party State spokesman Ravinder Jugran. The women requested that the State government should undertake all such efforts which are needed to provide the 30 per cent horizontal reservation to the women of Uttarakhand in the present and future. Dhami said that the State government is committed to ensuring this and is undertaking necessary action to ensure the horizontal reservation for the State’s women. He said that the stay ordered by the Uttarakhand High Court will be challenged in the Supreme Court while an ordinance and law will also be brought.
