The Anganwadi workers will hold a massive rally in Dehradun against the state government on September 20. The president of the Anganwadi Workers Association, Rekha Negi said that the Anganwadi Sanyukt Sangharsh Morcha Uttarakhand, which will be joined by district presidents of Anganwadi associations of all districts, will organize a rally on Tuesday against the government for not addressing their various grievances despite making several promises to fulfill them soon.
She said that they had approached the State administration and the department of Women Empowerment and Child Development (WECD) with their issues but nothing is being done to resolve them.
She said that the government had promised to look into their allowance issues, promotion issues, and paying rent money for Anganwadi centers on time among others but nothing has been done so far to resolve these issues. She said that the government has officially promised to give several benefits of certain government schemes too but they are yet to be their beneficiaries. Negi further said that the Anganwadi workers approached the State administration about the issue too but they told them that it can be resolved by the government only. Considering this, they have decided to hold a massive rally against the State government. She said that the Anganwadi workers work relentlessly across the State, especially in remote areas where there is not even a proper facility of transportation but the government still fails to acknowledge their work. She said that Anganwadi workers from all districts will participate in the rally on Tuesday which will start from Parade Ground to ensure that chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami listens to their voices.
