Intense shower warning issued for mountains

Intense showers are likely at some places in the mountainous regions of the State on Monday. The State meteorological centre has issued a warning (watch) regarding the possibility of thunderstorm/lightning with intense showers likely to occur at isolated places in the mountains today. Apart from this, light to moderate rainfall/thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places in the mountains of Kumaon region and at isolated places in the mountains of Garhwal region on Monday while dry weather is likely to prevail in the plains of the State.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to experience mainly clear to partly cloudy sky. Thunder cloud development/light rain is likely to occur in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 32 degrees Celsius and 22 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.
Meanwhile, as Dehradun witnessed mainly clear skies, various parts of the State experienced light to moderate rain on Sunday. There was 26.5 millimetres rain in Haldwani, 13 millimetres in Sitalkhet, 11 millimetres in Didihat, nine millimetres in Pauri, 8.5 millimetres in Khatima and 7.5 millimetres in Badkot. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Sunday were 31.2 degrees Celsius and 20 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 32 degrees Celsius and 22.9 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 17.9 degrees Celsius and 13.2 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 24.2 degrees Celsius and 14.4 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri.
