Discussion on venue and date of winter session expected in the meeting
The speaker of the Uttarakhand assembly Ritu Khanduri has convened a meeting of the leaders of the legislature parties to discuss the upcoming winter session of Uttarakhand assembly. This meeting would be held on October 31 and discussions on the venue and time of the holding the session is expected to be on its agenda.
The secretary in-charge of Vidhan Sabha, Hem Chandra Pant has written letters to the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami who is also the leader of the house, parliamentary affairs minister Prem Chand Agarwal, the Leader of Opposition (LoP) Yashpal Arya and the leader of BSP legislature party Mohammad Shahjad informing them about the meeting. As per the rules the winter session of Uttarakhand assembly should be held before December 15.
The last session of the assembly was the budget session which was held in Dehradun in the month of June and as per the rules there should not be a gap of more than six months between two sessions. The government had held the budget session in Dehradun instead of Gairsain because of the pilgrim season. It is expected that the winter session would be held in Gairsain since no session has been conducted there from the last one and half years.
