The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) alleged on Thursday that Raj Bhawan in Uttarakhand is spending lakhs of rupees on tips and personal expenses when the State government is already in debt of over Rs 70,000 crore.
The state spokesman of AAP, Ravindra Anand averred that Raj Bhawan has been working to dispose of the hard earned money of the public by giving unnecessary tips and gifts for personal purposes. He alleged that the governor appointed by BJP in Uttarakhand has been taking advantage of the BJP government at the Centre as well as in the State which is like robbing the funds of Uttarakhand for their personal gains.
The AAP leader has held the State government accountable for such alleged anomalies stating that the government has made no proper rules regarding such expenditures by Raj Bhawan in this regard. He said, “On what basis is the Raj Bhawan making direct payments to Sari stores, tailors and shopkeepers? It is an utter disregard for the rules. The government is already in debt for over Rs 70,000 crore and lakhs of rupees from government’s funds are being used on such unnecessary and useless things.” He said that the government should take appropriate action on the matter and must explain these expenses to the public too.
