Bharatiya Janata Party leader and social activist Ravinder Jugran said that he has all facts and documents pertaining to the case in which the State’s former director general of police BS Sidhu is accused of encroaching of reserve forest land and cutting of about two dozen trees at the site in the Mussoorie forest division. He said that if needed, he is ready to fully cooperate and provide any relevant information required to the State administration, police and Forest department.
A day after the Uttarakhand High Court stayed the arrest of the State’s former DGP, Jugran, who had filed petitions in the HC and Supreme Court in the matter, said on Saturday that the HC has to decide as to who is misguiding the State administration and the court. He said that the State government had examined the matter before an FIR was recently registered against Sidhu. Jugran said that a challan had been issued against Sidhu in 2013 under the Forest Act. Stating that an FIR under sections of the Indian Penal Code was recently registered against the former DGP in the Rajpur police station, the BJP leader said that there is a considerable difference between the Forest Act and the IPC.
