Two including wife sentenced to life for killing man

Two persons including the wife of the victim were sentenced to life imprisonment and Rs 75,000 fine each for muder by the additional sessions judge- V, Shesh Chandra. The government advocate Anuj Kumar said that on September 18, 2011 three motorcycle-borne accused shot and seriously injured petrol pump worker Irfan near NIH Colony in the Roorkee Kotwali area.
Reaching the spot after being informed the police admitted the injured Irfan to the government hospital in Roorkee for treatment, from where he was referred to higher centre due to his critical condition. Irfan later died during treatment.The father of the deceased had filed a case against the wife of the deceased, Imrana and Shahnawaz alias Rukhsar.
The police arrested both the accused and sent them to jail. After investigation, the police had filed a charge sheet against Imrana and Shahnawaz alias Rukhsar in the court for conspiracy and murder. Hearing the arguments of both the parties and based on the evidence, the court found the deceased’s wife Imrana and Shahnawaz alias Rukhsar guilty of killing Irfan.
