An 11-year-old boy miffed at being scolded at home skipped his tuition and instead made up a story about two men having attempted to kidnap him. The Jwalapur police station in Haridwar was informed on Friday by a local resident that his 11-year-old son was going to tuition on Friday at about 3 PM when two motorbike-borne youths allegedly tried to force him to sit on the motorbike but he managed to escape by pulling himself away.
The boy reached home and told this to his mother who informed her husband about it. The man in turn told the police about it. Jwalapur police station inspector RK Saklani said that on learning about a serious crime like attempted kidnapping of a minor, the police force swiftly began investigating the complaint. After checking the footage from a number of CCTV cameras, it was learnt that the child had made up the story. CCTV camera footage revealed that at the time of tuition the child was cycling alone and no signs of the purported attempt to kidnap were seen.
Further investigation revealed that the child had been scolded at home when he was about to go for his tuition in the afternoon. Miffed at being scolded, the boy skipped tuition and made up the story of the attempted abduction.
