A man returning after withdrawing money from a bank was attacked by unidentified assailants and robbed of money in the Bhagwanpur area on Friday afternoon. The victim was attacked with a knife and is currently hospitalised.
The police received information that a man had been assaulted with a knife and robbed on the overbridge near Bhagwanpur police station in broad daylight. The police started checking people after erecting a blockade in the area but were unable to find the culprits. The injured man identified as Prabhakar Bohra (45) was taken to the Roorkee civil hospital from where he was referred to a higher centre due to his serious condition.
According to the police, the amount robbed from the victim is yet to be ascertained. More will be known after getting information from the injured man. Meanwhile, efforts are underway to nab the culprits, said the police.
