CM interacts with players, children during morning walk

Inaugurates inter-departmental badminton meet of secretariat workers 

 The morning walkers and the players doing their practice in the Ambedkar stadium ONGC were pleasantly surprised to find chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami among them. He interacted with the players, children and morning walkers while having a stroll around the ground. The CM walked with international players of volleyball,  Y Subba Rao, Vinod Negi, Mandeep Singh and Devendra Bisht and held discussions with them.

Dhami also sipped a hot cup of tea at Babu Sharma’s tea stall near the ground. While having the tea, the CM interacted with the local people and took their feedback. 

 It is pertinent to mention here that Dhami has made it a habit to meet people during morning walks whenever he is on tour of different parts of the State.

 The CM also inaugurated the inter-departmental badminton competition organised by the badminton club of Uttarakhand secretariat on Saturday. He himself played a short game against the mayor of Dehradun Sunil Uniyal ‘Gama’.  Speaking on the occasion Dhami said that such types of the events help the employees in understanding one another while playing. He expressed hope that the competition would increase the coordination among the different departments and inculcate sportsman spirit which in turn motivates one to remain in discipline. The CM said that the State government has made every possible provision to encourage the players in its new sports policy. He said that nature has been very generous on Uttarakhand and its natural beauty attracts everyone. Dhami said that we should make Uttarakhand the number one State of the country by proper use of the natural resources. He said that cooperation of everyone is necessary for all-round development of the State. He said that a three-day ‘chintan  shivir’ was organised at Mussoorie recently in which deliberation on the development roadmap of the State was made. Dhami said that he would soon hold meetings with the section officers of the State secretariat in this regard.

The mayor Sunil Uniyal ‘Gama’ said that the State government is promoting sports in the State under the leadership of CM Dhami. He said that the commitment to ‘clean Doon, beautiful Doon’ would be implemented on ground. Badminton player Punita Naglia, president of badminton club secretariat PL Shukla and others were present on the occasion.
