Misbehaving with the caretakers of the patients while allegedly in an inebriated state proved costly for a doctor posted in a government hospital in Pauri district when the Health secretary R Rajesh Kumar suspended him on Tuesday. Medical officer (MO) Dr Shiv Kumar was posted in the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Satpuli, Pauri.
On Monday a video of the doctor, allegedly in an inebriated state went viral in the social media. In the video, he is seen referring a patient to a higher centre without even examining him. The doctor also allegedly misbehaved with the family members of the patients and the workers of the 108 emergency ambulance service.
Taking immediate cognisance of the incident, the secretary, R Rajesh Kumar suspended the doctor after the director general of health services found the doctor prima facie guilty of misconduct. Dr Kumar would remain attached to the office of chief medical officer of Pauri during his suspension period.
