CM inaugurates Winterline Carnival in Mussoorie

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the annual Winterline Carnival in Mussoorie is a unique blend of tourism and folk culture. He said this after inaugurating the festival in Mussoorie on Monday. The CM also watched cultural programmes organised at Gandhi Chowk in Mussoorie after the inauguration. Local artists of Pahadi Women band presented Mangal Geet along with folk singer Madhuri Barthwal.
The male band of ITBP and female band of CRPF also performed at the event. Dhami said that the carnival has become a centre of special attraction for all tourists visiting Uttarakhand. It also gives local artists a golden opportunity to present their talent before a great audience. Besides this, many famous artists from the country and abroad have also been working to make the carnival more grandeur, averred the CM. He said that the government is working consistently for tourism development across the State.
The schemes are being implemented effectively to provide better facilities in tourism as well as to tourists. Dhami said that he is happy to see that events like the Winter Carnival are making an invaluable contribution in making the government’s mission of tourism development a success. Later in the evening, various programmes were also organised in the Town Hall of the Mussoorie municipality.These included performances of classical singer Swarnima Gusain and Jagar singer Basanti Bisht. This five-day winter carnival will end on December 30.
