A man allegedly killed his friend after an argument while consuming alcohol at Laksar on Friday night. The police reached the scene of crime on being informed. The body was sent for post mortem examination to the Roorkee civil hospital while search for the absconding accused has been started.
According to sources Narendra and Dharampal, residents of Kabulpuri Raighati village, had gone to drink liquor across the Ganga on Friday evening. While drinking alcohol, there was an argument between the two over something.The accused Dharampal allegedly attacked Narendra with the axe he had. Narendra died on the spot due to the injuries inflicted with the axe while the accused fled from the spot. As soon as the information was received, Laksar Kotwali police reached the spot and sent the body for post mortem. The axe used to commit the murder was also recovered by the police. Laksar police circle officer Vivek Kumar said that following the murder, police teams have been dispatched to nab the accused who carried out the murder. The police have secured important clues and expect to nab the accused soon, he said.
